Creeks?

Hello Mr. King,
My family and I LOVE 3 man chess, however, we have no idea what you mean by "creeks". The thick green MOATS are obvious. By "thin green lines" do you mean the curving diagonal paths from the Queen? Those are the only thin green lines my board has.
"CREEKS run 2 squares off the MOATS..."
Does this mean the 5th row? (Home row is 1, PAWN row is 2, etc?)
"PAWNS are not considered strong enough to capture across a creek. They must advance to the square beyond the end of the CREEK first. (4th rank from the outside)"
Does this mean a PAWN cannot capture a piece from the 4th row? It can only capture a piece if it has started the turn on the 5th row?
Obviously we're very confused, so we've been ignoring the CREEK rule. Thanks for your help.
